Session Details, Options & Pricing

Cake Smash Sessions can be as simple or elaborate as you choose.

If you're wanting a Cake Smash, we will chat about your ideas & make a plan for the set up.

Important Information:

This is an "all hands on deck!" type session. 

Parents must be prepared to be involved in making their child(ren) smile and laugh while exploring their new cake. Smash & Splash Session take a lot of time to prep for (this includes creating handmade props, such as banners) & to clean up after.

The Details

My Smash+Splash Sessions are three part and up to 90 minutes of session time. We start with clean birthday photos in their special outfit & photos with family/parents/siblings if desired. Then while parents prep baby in their "smash" outfit, I grab photos of the cake and/or set up. Once baby is ready, we move to the smash part & follow that with the splash session. From this session, clients receive 10 fully edited, high resolution images* of your choice, a fully edited online viewing gallery, a full print release for selected photos, optional upgrades, the option to purchase additional images from your online gallery, additional prints and/or products. $250.

The Smash

For the "smash", based on the theme, I will provide: The backdrop, a banner if chosen, a cake plate, a prop or two, a number 1, set up & clean up.

Parents Provide: The outfit, the cake, any special props & balloons if they choose.


The Splash

The Splash Session is after the Smash. We use this session to clean up your little one. They splash & play & get all cleaned up while I capture the moment.

For the "splash" I will provide: The tub, & the final set clean up.

Parents Provide: Baby's bubble & body wash, their favorite bath toys & a towel.

CakeSmash Upgrades

*Parent, Family or Sibling photos before the smash: $50. (This is in the CakeSmash set up) Adding Family photos in before with it's own set up: $100. (These two upgrades do not include additional images.)

Six (theme/color coordinating) helium-filled balloons $30.

16x20 Personalized "Chalkboard" Birthday Sign $45.

Keepsake Fabric Banner (as pictured in some photos) $45.

Add any of these items & I'll have them ready for the session. Once we're done, you'll be welcome to take any “add-on” props home with you.

Remember to Bring:

*A towel for baby.

*Baby's bubble bath.

*Diaper Wipes (to clean the cake and frosting off of yourself- it gets everywhere)

*Extra Socks.

*The cake.

*The baby.

Packages are all-inclusive


All session fees include the planning & preparation of your session/coverage, photographer's time & talent, use of studio and/or some travel, a set number of beautifully, professionally edited digital images you'll select & download, a full print release to order prints from the lab of your choice, an online viewing, shareable gallery where you will choose your favorite images & have the option to purchase additional images, prints or products separately after the gallery is delivered. All sessions (except birth) require a $100 non-refundable retainer to reserve your spot & cover planning/prepping expenses, balances are due at the time of the session.
